Agent Widget is the rich interactive client for an agent: sessions, multimodal input, runtime events, tool calls, artifacts, approvals, and generated UI.An agent widget may fill a window, sit beside another application, or open as a popup. It signs the user in, shows their sessions, and exposes the model or harness options available to them. Users can type or speak, upload files, and control the running agent. The conversation view is more than a message list. It can show progress, reasoning summaries, tool calls and results, approval requests, errors, and run status. The widget also opens artifacts and hosts interactive forms, dashboards, viewers, or controls supplied by the agent or its tools. AG-UI standardizes events between an agent backend and its frontend. MCP Apps standardizes interactive views that tools deliver inside a compatible host. See the paper, section 5.1.
